Energy from Waste
As our name says, WTE was established with a main focus on the design of waste incinerators with energy recovery.
Even if, over the years, we have diversified our activities, we still maintain a strong specialization in this domain.
In almost 20 years, we have served a large number of clients: municipal concerns, owning and operating waste incineration plants; multi-utility companies operating in the waste management; main EPC contractors or major engineering firms seeking for a specialized support.
Waste incineration in the Circular Economy
The waste hierarchy shows the best way to deal with the waste management problem.ย It promotes an integrated approach, giving priority to waste avoidance and prevention, reuse and recycling over incineration and disposal in landfills.
Nevertheless, the recovery of energy from a mixed stream of waste whose components are not otherwise recoverable plays yet an important part in reducing the volumes to be disposed in landfill.
Waste incineration allows disposing of waste that we cannot reuse or recycle. Even if it has to be intended as a last resource, it still has to be there, to allow for total elimination of landfills.
WTE Advantage
The value of experience
WTE offers you a deep knowledge of the process, in all its aspects, coming from an experience of almost 20 years in this field. Over this time, we have seen the evolution of waste incineration plants from the plain, old workhorses of yesterday, when the main goal was just that of disposing waste some way, to the new, complex, advanced systems of today, applying the best available technologies to maximize the efficiency of the energy recovery process and reduce to a minimum the environmental impact of operations.
WTE has the capability of processing the most diverse waste: from the unsorted MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) characterized by high moisture, high organic content, low energy content - typical of yesterday's Southern European countries, and today's developing ones, to the MSW from sorted collection, RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), SSF (Secondary Solid Fuel) of the most advanced economies, where the waste stream is characterized by a high presence of packaging materials and a low amount of organic waste, and therefore by a higher energy content.

A distinctive approach
WTE engineering is the result of a rigorous approach. Our system are designed to guarantee the maximum flexibility; the highest efficiency in the energy recovery process; the maximum availability and maintainability of the plant; and a full control of the environmental impact of operations, obtained adopting the best available technologies in the design of the flue gas cleaning package and of the process control system.
